Cabopino and surroundings
Cabopino is the first urbanization within Marbella’s city limits arriving from Málaga airport. It has one of Spain´s most beautiful marinas, small but stylish with several Spanish and international restaurants, but not so well known to the general public, because it cannot be seen from the road. Cabopino was built in the 1960-ies by the well known promoter Grupo Civero as the Marina for nearby Sitio de Calahonda that was developed at the same time. The port is very cosy and features many great restaurants, such as Alberts Bar & Grill , The La Lonja Beach Restaurant right on the sand, and of course the iconic Andy´s Beach Bar that offers live music and exellent food!
Cabopino beach is without a doubt one of the best sandy beaches in the region, there are no rocks on the beach or in the Mediterranean and therefore ideal for families with young children, as the water is very shallow. Lots of sun loungers and parasols are offered by the Cabopino beach restaurants.
Las Dunas de Cabopino is one of the last natural reserves right on the beach in Spain. This is a protected natual area with mediterranean pine treees and moving sand dunes. Among the sand dunes you can walk on wodden bridges which are also great when you want to go for a run with spectacular views!
On the other side of the road you will also find a wonderfully maintained 18 hole course, Cabopino Golf, that enjoys panoramic views of the sea and the marina.
For education there is the English International School for primary and secondary students in Elvira a few kilometres away.
It is only a 40 minute drive from Cabopino to Malaga Airport and 10 minutes to the centre of Marbella.
