Held on the site formally known as “Recinto Ferial” (meaning fairground), La Cala Market (Marcadillo in Spanish) is held every Wednesday and Saturday from 9am to 2pm.

There are approximately 115 stalls selling all manner of things from artesan craft products, fresh fruit and vegetables, potted plants, herbs and spices, sweets and candy, leather goods, clothing & accessories and so much more.

It is also considered one of the best on the Costa del Sol since the prices are quite reasonable and it is not too large nor too small. But don´t just take our word for it, check out the reviews on TripAdvisor such as this one, or better still, visit it yourself!  Start Group has several wonderful new developments for sale in the area; Fairways La Cala Golf, which is a 120 minute drive from the market place and Jardinana La Cala Mijas where both Azalea Jardinana and Lotus Jardinana are wihtin 5 minutes walk from the local market.

Great beach and market

Fantastic beach area and so safe. Would especially recommend the market held on Wednesday and Saturdays. Excellent quality of stalls, fruit, vegetables, clothing, jewellery and the usual holiday gifts and souvenirs. Smaller than Fuengirola market but well worth the visit
